Open source, and yours to run
The app and the server are free software. Read the code, suggest changes, or run the whole thing on your own machine, so your history and recordings never leave it.
The app
Flutter, for Android, iOS and the web: recognition, the trackers, auto-correct, prayer mode.
On GitHub →hafizpro-server
Go: one program and one SQLite file. Accounts, sync, recordings, this website and the downloads mirror.
On GitHub →Run your own server
A Raspberry Pi, a home server or a small VPS is plenty. You get everything on this site: accounts for your family, sync, recordings, the web app, and a mirror of the fonts and recitations so the app needn't fetch them from elsewhere.
Then in the app, open Settings › Sync and enter your server's address.
With Docker
git clone https://github.com/hafiz-pro/hafizpro-server hafizpro-server cd hafizpro-server docker compose up -d # optional: fonts, recitations, speech model (1.8 GB) docker compose run --rm mirror # accounts for your family docker compose exec hafizpro hafizpro-server user add yusuf
What a server keeps
KeptYour username and a hash of your password · the devices signed in · your review history and settings · recordings you chose to sync.
NeverWhat you say while reciting, unless you record it · analytics or tracking · ads · anything sold or shared.
Built with the work of others
- Natlu, the open-source app HafizPro grew from.
- Quran-Lab's speech recognition model, free for non-commercial use.
- EveryAyah and Quran.com, for the recitations and their word timings.
- King Fahd Complex, for the Mushaf page fonts.
